“Although it’s conveniently located just a half hour from downtown Chicago, Water’s Edge Golf Club feels much further away with a location along the banks of the Cal-Sag channel. Water naturally has a prominent presence on the course. The layout offers a challenging test but it’s nicely balanced by player-friendly elements including generous landing areas off the fairways and greens that are fairly reachable. Canopy-grown trees frame most of the holes, giving it the feel of a North Carolina golf course. In addition to the towering trees, there are protected wetlands throughout the golf course that come into play. Water’s Edge is also known for having one of the best practice facilities in the area, featuring a putting green, short-game facility, and large grass hitting area. The entire facility is lighted for night practice.”
